A Wine Club for all Wine Lovers

The sign behind the bar in The Urban Cork’s tasting room says,

“Wine is just juice with more life experience.”

This also seems an apt expression for The Urban Cork Wine Club, because first it’s the grape’s juice in the bottle, at the wine club party it’s opened, you taste, and voilà, life experience.

Some wine clubs open their door to let you taste what you’ve already bought, but this one is different. At this one, 8 wines are presented for tastings, and you make the choice of what you want to take home. So depending on how many bottles you’ve chosen as your club option - 4, 6 or 12 - you can take home your preference of all whites, all reds, or a mix. Often the 8 wines presented will include a new release, maybe even two! Members always have first access to new wines.

As a club member you’ll receive discounts on bottles and cases, but keep in mind discounts are the best during the events. Additional wine club perks include 2-for-1 tastings, club exclusive wines, sneak peaks, along with members only events such as barrel and library wine tastings. Wine club members are the first to know what’s going on at City Center Wine District.

What can you expect at a typical wine club release?

It’s a party! A celebration of wine, selections and pairings of delicious food, accompanied by live music. The club party is an exclusive experience, a chance to meet other club members, and taste the wines before you buy. Tables of the chosen wines are set up specifically for tastings. Staff will provide the story behind the wine, pairing suggestions, pricing, and to make things a little easier, a notepad to take notes on your tasting. Sometimes all those flavors become just a bit blended! Plus, as a member you are in full control of your purchase. No automatic purchases and surprises on your credit card. You choose your discounted bottles after you’ve tasted so you know you love what you’re taking home.

Linda Donovan points out, “We usually surprise our members with gifts, sometimes even a bonus bottle of wine - you know really it’s always a nice surprise - but no surprise when paying.”
